The original Glasgow BMW Mini Specialists website was outdated, lacked visual hierarchy, and didn’t effectively communicate the full range of services the business offered. Its content structure was weak, the URLs weren’t aligned with search intent, and mobile performance wasn’t strong enough to support future marketing or paid campaigns.
Although the business already ranked for terms like “BMW diagnostics Glasgow,” the website itself wasn’t reflective of their expertise and wasn’t prepared for Google’s evolving search landscape, including the introduction of AI-generated search results. The client also planned to run targeted Google Ads, but the old site wasn’t built to convert high-intent paid traffic effectively.
Our Approach
We rebuilt the website from the ground up using Umbraco for content management and Next.js with TypeScript for the front end. The new build focused on clean, semantic content structure, fully optimised URLs, fast mobile-first performance, and a bespoke component system created specifically for this project.
Every section, from the hero banner to the individual service pages, was designed to be lightweight, accessible, and search-friendly. The rebuild was paired with a targeted Google Ads campaign designed to drive high-intent traffic directly to the relevant service pages, supported by strong landing page quality and conversion tracking.
Results
The new website now scores between 96 and 100 across all Lighthouse categories, delivering exceptional performance, accessibility, and SEO. It maintains strong organic positions for searches such as “BMW diagnostics Glasgow,” while the improved structure and speed have significantly increased conversions from Google Ads, particularly through high-value phone calls.
Most impressively, the site is now featured directly inside Google’s new AI Overview for multiple BMW upgrade-related searches. This positions the business alongside high-tier providers within the AI-driven search experience and demonstrates a high level of trust and authority assigned by Google’s new system.
Following the launch, the client was delighted with the results. We continue to manage their marketing, including ongoing Google Ads optimisation, and the success of the rebuild led them to commission a new Shopify project currently in development.
