Voy Stays

Voy Stays runs serviced apartments across Scotland for business travellers, contractors and holidaymakers. Their site needed to sell those stays directly — with real prices and real availability — while also speaking to companies and landlords.

Every property is managed in Hostaway, the platform behind Voy’s calendars and bookings. The challenge was putting that live data on a fast, search-friendly website without calling Hostaway on every page view — and without guests finding dates that were booked an hour ago.

A custom Python API between Hostaway and a Next.js front end — so the site stays fast, and availability stays close to live.

The API pulls listings, photos, amenities, nightly rates and calendars from Hostaway and serves them to the site in exactly the shape it needs. The front end never talks to Hostaway directly.

Pages are cached and refreshed in the background, so property pages load instantly while prices and availability keep updating. Every listing card shows when a property is next free and its nightly rate, and every property page carries a two-month availability calendar.

Around the listings sit search by location, dates and guests; a properties page with filters and a map; booking requests that go straight to the Voy team; and pages for business stays, landlords, a journal and an earnings calculator for property owners.
